Requirements
About the Business Development Manager Role:
This is a role where you will own the entire sales process - from generating your own leads and making the initial approach, through to building the relationship, managing the opportunity and ultimately closing the deal. You'll be responsible for developing your own pipeline through proactive outbound activity, speaking directly with business owners and decision-makers, understanding their funding requirements and converting those conversations into revenue. This is not an appointment-setting role. You generate your own opportunities, and you close your own deals. You'll have ownership of your pipeline and the opportunity to directly influence your earnings through your performance.
The ideal candidate will be confident, commercially driven and highly motivated by targets and earning potential. You'll be resilient enough to deal with rejection, disciplined enough to build your own pipeline and hungry enough to close the deals you've created.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate your own leads and build a consistent pipeline of new business opportunities.
- Make high-volume outbound calls to businesses and prospective customers.
- Identify and engage business owners and senior decision-makers.
- Develop new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and outbound activity.
- Understand customers' businesses and identify their funding requirements.
- Qualify opportunities and determine the most appropriate funding solutions.
- Manage the full sales process from initial contact through to close.
- Build strong relationships with prospects and convert them into customers.
- Handle objections, negotiate and confidently ask for the sale.
- Follow up consistently and manage your pipeline to maximise conversion.
- Take ownership of your sales activity, pipeline, revenue and results.
- Consistently work towards and exceed agreed activity, revenue and sales targets.
- Develop a strong understanding of the business finance market and the funding solutions available through Lovey.
About You
We're looking for high-energy, driven individuals who are ambitious, competitive and motivated to succeed. If you're someone who thrives in a fast-paced sales environment, enjoys picking up the phone and is motivated by achieving big results, you'll fit right in. We're looking for an ambitious, commercially driven salesperson who wants ownership of their results and the opportunity to earn serious money.
You’ll be someone who:
- Confident and comfortable making high volumes of outbound calls.
- Naturally persuasive and able to build rapport quickly.
- Resilient and comfortable with cold calling, rejection and challenging conversations.
- Commercially minded and highly motivated by targets and financial reward.
- Hungry to generate their own opportunities rather than relying on inbound leads.
- Confident and capable of taking a prospect from initial conversation through to close.
- Proactive, competitive and driven to succeed.
- Well organised with strong pipeline and follow-up skills.
- Confident speaking to business owners and senior decision-makers.
- Accountable for their own performance and motivated by exceeding targets.
- Eager to build a long-term career in a high-growth sales environment.
Experience in B2B sales, business development, telesales or a full-cycle sales environment is essential, with a proven ability to generate opportunities and close business. Previous experience in finance broking or financial services is highly desirable.
If you're ready to take ownership of your own pipeline, generate your own business, close your own deals and be rewarded for your performance, we'd love to hear from you.
