We're looking for a motivated and skilled Assistant Chef who values balance, supports the kitchen team with energy and care, and takes pride in contributing to a positive, collaborative environment. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering high-quality meals that support residents' wellbeing, respect individual needs, and bring comfort and enjoyment to everyday life.
This role includes preparing nutritious meals for up to 65 residents, as well as supporting the catering for the home's events and celebrations. It's a 38-hour contract at £13.30 per hour with 07:30-17:30 shifts, no late nights, and alternate weekends, giving you the work/life balance most chefs only dream of.

This wonderful Lovett Care home boasts a wide range of modern facilities to help residents feel at home, including beautifully decorated bedrooms equipped with ensuite bathroom facilities, a selection of stylish communal lounges, inviting dining spaces, and manicured gardens where residents can enjoy some of the fresh sea air.
Experience of working during busy meal periods including breakfast and evening meal service.
- Ability to contribute to and develop the four-week menu with our Head Chef.
- Ability to complete records demonstrating adherence to legal requirements.
- Ensure that meals are provided in sufficient quantities, taking into account the diets to meet medical, ethnic and personal needs and preferences.
- Ensure all food is nutritionally balanced, attractively presented for service in a timely manner and in the correct sequence.
- Ensure that the kitchen and serving areas are clean and hygienic and maintain a high standard of infection control and adhere to the Food Standards Act 1999.
- Follow instructions from Head Chef and Chef.
- Work as part of the team to inspire and motivate the team to produce food to the expected high standards.
