We are seeking to appoint a kind, organised and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team.
The successful candidate will assist with the preparation and service of meals for residents and external visitors using our Apetito meal service, ensuring high standards of food safety, cleanliness and customer care.

0800–1800 , with alternate weekend working.
Role Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, heating and serving of Apetito meals for residents and external visitors.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment and kitchen areas are cleaned according to cleaning schedules.
- Ensure compliance at all times with Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, COSHH and HACCP requirements and legislation.
- Follow instructions from the Catering Supervisor, Home Manager or designated senior team member.
- Undertake pot washing and general kitchen duties on a daily basis.
- Receive, check and correctly store food deliveries, ensuring stock is rotated and stored safely.
- Maintain accurate food temperature records and complete all required kitchen documentation.
Skills and experience required
- Previous experience of working in food services is desirable.
- Experience of working within a busy kitchen environment as part of a team is desirable.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other team members is essential.
- A willingness to learn is essential.
- No formal qualifications are required as we provide full training and development in relation to this role.
