Located in the heart of Flintshire; our Bod Hyfryd Care Home remains an easily accessible home in the local area.

Not too far from the Welsh seafront and only a short drive from the A55, or a short walk from the Flint train station, we are ideally placed to greet the friends and families of our residents.

We are seeking to appoint a motivated and experienced Chef to join our team.

To work with the Head Chef, to ensure that a high quality of food service is provided to support residents, responsive to their needs and contributes to their overall positive experience of living in the Home.

We have a 40 hours contract available with an hourly rate of £13.30.

Shift times are 0730-1730, with alternate weekend working.

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure that menus are presented and displayed in a way that residents can understand them and make daily choice onwhat they wish to eatduring the day.
  • Ensure that meals are provided in sufficient quantities, taking into accountthe diets to meet medical, ethnicand personal needs and preferences.
  • Ensure all food is nutritionally balanced, attractively presented for servicein a timely mannerand in the correct sequence.
  • Understand, followand adhere to company HACCP, ensuring full compliance.
  • Ensure that the kitchen and serving areas are clean and hygienic andmaintaina high standard of infection control and adhere to the Food Standards Act1999, andensuring cleaning rotas are adhered to and records kept.
  • Manage, allocatedutiesand supervise the kitchen teamin the absence of the Head Chefensuring a quality delivery of services.
  • Inspire and motivate the team produce food to the expectedhigh standards.

Skills and experience required

  • Experience of working during busy meal periods including breakfast and evening meal service.
  • Experience of working in a care home or similar.
  • Knowledge of specialised diets and service delivery.
  • Ability to contribute and develop the four-week menu.
  • Ability to complete recordsdemonstratingadherence to legal requirements.
