Egerton Manor Care is a purpose-built care facility and is situated in the picturesque village of Egerton in the heart of Bolton.

The home is registered to provide the highest standards of safety, comfort and care to 64 residents who have a variety of care needs.

We offer residential, nursing and dementia care.

All team members are hand selected for their warmth and passion; they have a full induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers.

Across Lovett Care all of our staff are paid the national minimum wage or above.

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Chef to join our team.

You will be working as part of the kitchen team to ensure that a high quality of food service is provided to support our residents, responsive to their needs and contributes to their overall positive experience of living in the Home.

We have a 38 hour contract available, with alternate weekend working.

Shift times are 0730-1730 with an hourly rate of £13.00.

We are looking for someone who has

  • Experience of working during busy meal periods including breakfast and evening meal service.
  • Experience of working in a care home or similar but this is not essential.
  • Knowledge of specialised diets and service delivery.
  • Ability to contribute to and develop the four-week menu with our Head Chef.
  • Ability to complete recordsdemonstratingadherence to legal requirements.

Your role will be to

  • Ensure that menus are presented and displayed in a way that residents can understand them and make daily choice on what they wish to eat during the day.
  • Ensure that meals are provided in sufficient quantities, taking into accountthe diets to meet medical, ethnicand personal needs and preferences.
  • Ensure all food is nutritionally balanced, attractively presented for servicein a timely mannerand in the correct sequence.
  • Understand, followand adhere to company HACCP, ensuring full compliance.
  • Ensure that the kitchen and serving areas are clean and hygienic andmaintaina high standard of infection control and adhere to the Food Standards Act1999, andensuring cleaning rotas are adhered to and records kept.
  • Follow instructions from Head Chef and Chef.
  • Undertake washing up duties whenrequired.
  • Work as part of the team to inspire and motivate the team produce food to the expectedhigh standards.
