Senior Site Manager

Full-Time On-site
Lovell Partnerships Limited

Full Time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

Start Date – November 2026

Are you an experienced Senior Site Manager looking for the opportunity to take the lead on a major residential development from its earliest stages?

We are looking for a confident and highly organised Senior Site Manager to join the team delivering Westwood Village One, located next to Westwood Cross Shopping Centre in Thanet. The development will initially deliver 236 two and three-storey timber-frame homes across two phases, alongside new roads, drainage, utilities, substations and open-space landscaping. This will form the first phase of a wider proposed development of approximately 3,000 new homes.

The role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large-scale housing development at the beginning, helping to set up the site and establish the standards, processes and culture that will shape its delivery.

As Senior Site Manager, you will oversee the construction of the development’s roads, utility infrastructure, foundations, site setup and groundworks and civils packages through to substructure completion. You will be responsible for ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with the agreed programme, while maintaininghigh standards of quality throughout.

You will lead the day-to-day management of the site team and subcontractors, coordinating progress meetings, monitoringperformance and producing detailed daily, weekly and monthly reports. You will also prepare programme lookaheads and work closely with external stakeholders, including the local council, LABC, the client’s Clerk of Works and utility providers.

A key part of the role will be creating a positive health, safety and environmental culture from the outset. You will ensure compliance with Lovell’s LIMS systems, manage data input into Project Plus and oversee the development and implementation of robust quality assurance processes.

What we’relooking for

You will be an experienced Site Manager or Senior Site Manager with a background in housebuilding, working for a developer or main contractor, or progressing from a relevant trade background.

You must have strong experience across civil engineering, drainage, external groundworks, piling, substructures, service installation and large-scale residential construction. Previous experience managing timber-frame housebuilding is essential.

You will also need experience of estate-road construction and Section 38 processes, including road sign-off, alongside the coordination and installation of utilities and drainage. Experience of Section 278 works and utility diversions would be an advantage.

You will be a capable team leader and an effective communicator, with the confidence to coordinate subcontractors, manage competing priorities and build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will be process-driven and comfortable producing detailed plans, progress reports and programme lookaheads.

Good IT skills are important, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Field View, Viewpoint, Asta Powerproject or similar construction management and programming software would be beneficial, although Asta experience is not essential.

Qualifications and essential cards

You will ideally hold a degree in civil engineering, structural engineering or construction management. Applications are also welcomed from candidates with an HND or HNC in a relevant discipline, an NVQ Level 6 or 7, or a trade background supported by an NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management or Senior Construction Management. Candidates working towards MCIOB chartered status or an equivalent professional qualification would be particularly well suited to the role.

A valid White or Black CSCS card, SMSTS qualification and First Aid certification are essential. Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor training, Scaffold Appreciation, SEATS, Fire Marshal, Mental Health First Aid and timber-frame or STA training would be advantageous.

Why join us?

This is a unique opportunity to take a leading role on a major residential development from its earliest stage. You will have the chance to influence how the site is established, create a strong safety and quality culture and help deliver the infrastructure and homes that will form the foundation of a significant new community.

If you have the technical knowledge, leadership experience and drive to deliver a complex large-scale housing development, we would like to hear from you.
