The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

Reporting to the Managing Estimator, you will provide land and tender appraisals in a timely manner whilst maximising the land value, development margin and return on capital employed. You will join a growing team of passionate and dedicated Pre‑construction professionals, providing commercial support to the estimating team throughout the region and developing relationships with internal project teams and our supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Estimating team in the identification of risks and the application of the commercial standing instructions.
  • Ensuring that commercial opportunities are optimised and the company's position is always suitably protected.
  • Consistently providing timely and accurate estimates, pre‑acquisition studies, etc., fully utilising the Housebuilder appraisal system.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely subcontract enquiries are used in the formulation of bids where applicable and resolving all issues prior to land appraisal adjudication.
  • Carrying out site visits on new opportunities and existing developments to understand construction methods.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role with commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and the ability to prepare and understand financial reports.
  • Understanding of sub‑contract orders and buying processes.
  • Good IT skills; previous experience of estimating software is advantageous but not essential.
  • Current driving licence (essential for the role).
