The impact you’ll have
Reporting initially to the Head of Financial and Operational Excellence, you will be the senior member of a lean team of Financial Accountants providing operational support to the business alongside contributing to the month end close process. You will be comfortable making data assisted decisions, have an AI curious mindset, driving continuous improvement to existing processes within the team whilst maintaining operational excellence, provide support and guidance to junior team members.
Your day-to-day:
- Bank reconciliations & relationship management - ownership of the more complex weekly and monthly bank reconciliations completed accurately in line with month end timelines. Manage the relationship with the reconciliation provider (Aurum) to ensure any automation rules or any aspects of the reconciliation process are optimised within the team.
- Ownership of the creditor ledger - understand any aged or debit balances, proactively work to resolve issues and report back to the Reporting team on the status of these. This will involve working closely with the Junior Financial Accountant with regards to non trade related suppliers.
- Identify and resolve outstanding outputs - through the work done within bank reconciliations, work with the Supplier Payments team to ensure all statements are completed appropriately and are recognised within the ledger accurately - holding them accountable for resolving exceptions and closing out statements.
- Ownership of the company credit cards - liaise with employees on spend, limit changes and requirement ensuring that appropriate records are maintained.
- Review of invoice creation - ensure that invoices are recorded accurately, distributed in a timely manner.
- Manage Tourist board and Flight incentive debtors providing regular updates to the reporting team.
- Ownership of other balance sheet reconciliations - ensuring reconciliation are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
