Our Trading team plays a crucial role in driving the success of the business by leveraging data insights and working with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal trading performance. The impact you’ll have: As Head of Trading, you'll lead a team of market-specific Trading Managers to drive commercial performance across the Group. Sitting within the Revenue Management and Trading function and reporting to the VP, you'll own the Trading calendar and reporting - ensuring insights translate into action. You'll chair Trading meetings, analyse short and medium-term performance trends, and manage the levers that drive Gross Profit - from Marketing Spend and Conversion Rate through to Margin Per Transaction and Trading Margin. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll surface opportunities, move quickly to mitigate risks, and use trading insights to influence decisions beyond your immediate team. You'll also be responsible for keeping senior management informed with timely, accurate performance updates, and for developing the Trading Managers who report to you.
Your day-to-day:
- Chairing Trading meetings and driving trading actions to optimise performance
- Analysing short and medium term performance trends and optimising the relationship between Marketing Spend, Conversion Rate, Margin Per Transaction, Trading Margin and ultimately Gross Profit
- Representing the Trading team across the wider business; leveraging trading insights to influence stakeholder decisions and optimise results
- Ensuring timely and accurate updates of performance to senior management
- Line management of the Trading Managers and supporting their development
Your skillset:
- Highly numerate with strong commercial and financial acumen
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Proficient in extracting, analysing and presenting data to support recommendations
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive results
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver to targets
- Enjoy working in a fast paced and growing organisation
Desirable:
- Working knowledge of Google tools (Gsheets, Looker, Big Query)
- Experience of working within a competitive digital industry (e.g. Travel or online FMCG)
