Role Purpose
The Regional Mobile Maintenance Engineer will provide high-level technical support across all Loveday residences. The role is responsible for fault finding, repairs, and maintenance of M&E systems, as well as providing technical guidance and hands-on support to on-site Maintenance Technicians at each residence. This is a mobile role, requiring regular travel between residences. The post holder will also provide holiday and sickness cover for the FM team and support operational continuity across the portfolio including managing of subcontractors, compliance activities and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- M&E Maintenance and repairs
- Electrical fault finding, repairs, and minor installations (single and three phase knowledge desirable).
- Planned, reactive, and statutory maintenance on electrical assets and systems
- Inspection and testing of fixed wire installations in line with 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- Fault diagnosis, isolation, and rectification of electrical faults.
- PAT testing and periodic compliance checks (e.g. emergency lighting, fire alarm weekly testing).
- Diagnose faults and support repairs on HVAC and mechanical plant systems.
- Auditing of compliance and risk actions.
- Carry out BMS checks and basic fault investigation.
- Conduct inspections of plant rooms, valves, expansion vessels, and other critical assets in line with planned maintenance schedules.
- Monitor subcontractor PPM visits in line with schedules
General Building & Fabric Maintenance
- Carry out general fabric maintenance such as painting & decorating, basic plumbing & carpentry repairs when providing holiday & sickness cover for site technicians.
- Support with daily, weekly, monthly checklists and tasks when required and supporting site technicians.
- General fault finding across building fabric and internal systems.
Compliance, Health & Safety
- Complete and monitor logbooks entries for daily, weekly, and monthly PPM tasks including water temperature checks, flushing regimes, fire alarm testing, and wheelchair checks etc.
- Monitor CAFM system for upcoming and overdue compliance items to ensure residences remains compliant
- Support maintenance technicians in testing, monitoring and balancing Hydro Treadmill and Hydrotherapy Pool equipment
- Deliver fire warden training and support technicians with bi-annual evacuation drills.
- Review subcontractor RAMS and supervise contractor works on site where required
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, statutory requirements, and Loveday policies.
Operational & Regional Support
- Provide technical support and mentoring to on-site Maintenance Technicians.
- Provide holiday and sickness cover across residences as required.
- Support General Managers and Head of FM with operational and logistical tasks and day to day support to keep members and their families safe and the residence compliant.
Person Profile
- Proven hands-on experience in building maintenance (electrical bias) and understanding of HVAC systems
- Experience in hospitality, care, hotel, luxury residential, or similarly high-standard environments desirable
- Formal electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, or equivalent) with maintenance experience.
- Strong understanding of statutory compliance and health & safety within an FM environment
- Attention to detail with a professional, person-centred, and service-driven approach.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support, guide, and collaborate with site teams.
- Good IT skills to work with online dashboards, software systems and documentation
- Trustworthy, professional, and member-focused in all interactions.
- Able and willing to travel regularly between multiple residences.
