Overview of the role

This role is Hybrid with on site presence at least one day per week in Liverpool

As a Technical Analyst, you’ll play a key role in understanding how our technology works today and helping shape how it works tomorrow.

You’ll get under the skin of our systems, applications and integrations, turning technical findings into clear requirements and practical recommendations that improve performance, resilience and service quality. Working closely with architects, engineers, Product Owners and support teams, you’ll connect the dots between business needs and technology, helping teams make informed decisions and deliver effective technical change.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to investigate real technical challenges, understand complex system dependencies and make a visible contribution to the development and improvement of our platform

Key responsibilities

As a Technical Analyst within a product team, your key responsibilities will be to:

• Explore and analyse existing systems, applications and technical processes to understand how they work, where their limitations sit and how they connect.

• Dig into integrations, APIs, data flows and messaging across internal and external systems, clearly documenting interfaces and dependencies.

• Assess existing and proposed technical solutions to make sure they meet business needs, operational requirements and technical standards.

• Partner with architects and engineers to explore the feasibility, risks, constraints and wider impact of proposed technical solutions and changes.

• Define, document and validate non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, availability, resilience, security and maintainability.

• Use logs, metrics, monitoring dashboards and system behaviour to investigate issues, spot recurring problems and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Work alongside Service Management, support teams, Product Owners and other stakeholders to investigate incidents and problems, turning findings into clear technical requirements and actions.

• Work with users, clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into clear, technically detailed user stories, features and tasks for engineering teams.

• Play an active part in Scrum ceremonies and product sprints, bringing technical analysis and insight into refinement, planning and delivery.

• Collaborate with third-party suppliers to clarify technical requirements and help resolve issues relating to their solutions and integrations

Skills, Qualifications and experience

• Experience in a junior or technical analyst role, or an engineering development background.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.

• A collaborative approach, with strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Self-sufficient, with the ability to manage your own workload and recognise when escalation is needed.

• A detailed understanding of technology, including system architecture, integrations and non-functional requirements.

• Experience working within an agile team environment.
