TEMPORARY ACTIVITIES & EVENTS COORDINATOR

We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a vibrant charity for a compassionate, organised and proactive Activities & Events Coordinator to help deliver activities, events and community initiatives that make a genuine difference to people's lives. Working alongside colleagues, volunteers, health professionals and community partners, you will help create welcoming, inclusive opportunities for individuals to participate, build friendships and access the support they need.

The Role

This is a varied, hands-on position combining community engagement, activity coordination, volunteer support and administration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the organisation and delivery of engaging group sessions and community events, ensuring activities are safe, inclusive and welcoming.
  • Building positive relationships, encouraging participation, maintaining regular contact and signposting individuals to relevant services and activities.
  • Assisting with volunteer recruitment, inductions, rotas and ongoing communication to ensure volunteers feel supported and valued.
  • Maintaining accurate participant records, gathering feedback and contributing to reports and funding returns.
  • Following safeguarding and health and safety procedures, maintaining appropriate boundaries and representing the charity positively.

About You

You will be a people-focused individual who enjoys working with others and is motivated by making a positive difference. Compassionate, approachable and well organised, you will have the practical skills and confidence to support community activities and build trusting relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.

Ideally, you will bring:

  • Experience working or volunteering in a community, health, wellbeing or customer-facing environment, ideally supporting older people or diverse communities.
  • Experience supporting activities, events or group sessions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, including basic IT proficiency and Microsoft Office.
  • An understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and professional boundaries.
  • A flexible, resilient and collaborative approach, with a genuine commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
