My client is a global publishing organisation looking for a number of people to work on an exciting 6-month remote project. Role description: The role of the Publishing Ethics Analyst is to support large-scale investigations in the published content of scholarly journals. This role involves analysing potential ethical issues, ensuring research integrity, and assisting in maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics.
Responsibilities:
- Accurate assessment of activities by authors, reviewers, editors, guest editors and others
- Assessing large-scale investigations including plagiarism, duplication, authorship disputes, peer review manipulation, and figure manipulation/duplication
- Keeping investigations to schedule, and ensuring articles assigned are handled in a timely manner
- Prioritising work based on team needs
- Supporting the regular team reporting and tracking work progress
Skills:
- Degree in an academic discipline
- Knowledge/experience of STM journal peer-review and the publishing process, and COPE best practices
- Ability to work methodically, problem-solving and fact-checking
- Strong analytical, organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent communications skills
