Our client, a highly regarded and prestigious independent school, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented HR & Payroll Officer to join their established team. HR Administration & Advisory
- Acting as the first point of contact for HR-related queries
- Managing the day-to-day administration of the HR system (Every HR)
- Coordinating pre-employment checks in line with safeguarding requirements
- Supporting senior leadership, including Headteachers and the COO, on employee relations matters
- Preparing job descriptions and recruitment packs
Payroll
- Managing the payroll process in line with policies and deadlines
- Collating and submitting payroll data to an outsourced provider
- Reviewing payroll reports and resolving discrepancies
- Ensuring compliance with pay regulations, including National Minimum Wage
Pensions
- Administering pension contributions and maintaining accurate records
- Liaising with pension providers and finance teams
- Managing end-of-year returns and responding to employee queries
Data & Compliance
- Maintaining the Single Central Register in line with safeguarding standards
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation and internal policies
- Updating HR policies in line with current regulations
Experience required:
- Previous payroll experience, ideally within an education setting
- Experience with systems such as Cintra or Breathe (desirable)
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, discreet, and proactive approach
