Temporary Invoice Query Specialist

This temporary Invoice Query Specialist role in London involves investigating billing discrepancies and resolving invoice disputes accurately and efficiently. Working closely with customers and internal teams, the post-holder will use Salesforce and Excel to manage queries, maintain precise records and identify ways to prevent recurring issues. Suitable candidates will bring experience in finance, billing, credit control or accounts receivable, along with strong analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving. The position also offers involvement in developing AI-assisted resolution tools. Offered on a temporary contract at £14.61–£15.00 per hour plus holiday pay, this role suits someone proactive and organised who enjoys improving processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the invoice query inbox, investigating and resolving disputes within agreed timeframes.
• Cross-reference invoices against order records, pricing agreements, delivery data and account history using Salesforce.
• Raise credit notes with clear explanations and a complete audit trail.
• Build and maintain Excel trackers, monitoring query status, age, value and outcomes, and producing regular reports for Finance and Credit Control.
• Identify recurring billing errors and work with internal teams to address root causes.
• Support Credit Control by providing timely updates and ensuring legitimate open queries are not unnecessarily escalated to collections.
• Liaise professionally with customers and internal stakeholders to obtain information and resolve queries promptly.
• Support the testing and development of AI-assisted tools to improve the accuracy and efficiency of query resolution.

What We''re Looking For

• Strong Excel skills , including building trackers, cross-referencing data and producing reports from scratch.
• Excellent attention to detail and confidence working with invoices, billing information and order records.
• A proactive, investigative approach with the ability to manage a high volume of cases independently and prioritise effectively.
• Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM system.
• A background in finance, billing, credit control, accounts receivable or a data-focused role.
• An understanding of invoice queries, credit notes and dispute resolution processes.
• Familiarity with AI tools and prompt writing, with an interest in using technology to improve processes.
