About the Role
GymWorks is one of the North West's leading fitness operators, committed to delivering an outstanding member experience through exceptional facilities, expert support, and a welcoming community. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated and energetic Assistant General Manager to support the day-to-day running of our busy fitness club. Working alongside the General Manager, you will lead the team, drive membership growth, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure the club maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and member experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in all operational aspects of the club.
- Lead, motivate, and develop gym staff and personal trainers.
- Drive membership sales, retention, and secondary revenue streams.
- Ensure excellent customer service and member satisfaction.
- Monitor club KPIs and contribute to business growth strategies.
- Maintain health and safety compliance throughout the facility.
- Assist with recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Coordinate local marketing and community engagement initiatives.
Requirements
- Previous management or supervisory experience within the fitness, leisure, or hospitality sector.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Proven experience achieving sales targets.
- Passion for health, fitness, and customer service.
- Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification preferred.
- Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification advantageous.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
