Fitness Space Surrey Quays is looking for enthusiastic, ambitious Level 3 Personal Trainers to join our team. We're a boutique gym concept built on one core belief: your development as a coach directly drives the results our members get. That's why coach development isn't a token gesture here—it's baked into how we operate every single week.
What sets us apart: a genuinely cohesive coach-development system. This isn't "shadow someone for a week and you're on your own." You'll be developed continuously, inside a structured system:
- Monthly in-club CPD workshops: hands-on, practical, delivered in-house
- Coach roundtables: regular sessions where the whole team shares ideas, problem-solves real client cases, and pressure-tests programming together
- 1-2-1 mentoring: every trainer has support from more experienced coaches, not just a manager checking KPIs
- Bespoke coach app & state-of-the-art tech: digital tools built specifically to support how we program, track and communicate with clients, so you're backed by systems, not guesswork
- Leadership with genuine elite-sport pedigree: the team is led by coaches with backgrounds in elite sport strength & conditioning and rehab, and you'll be working day-to-day alongside strength & conditioning specialists, high-end personal trainers, former elite athletes and sports performance consultants
The result is an open, ego-free, knowledge-sharing environment where everyone, regardless of experience level, is learning and improving together. Whether you want to become an outstanding hands-on coach or you're eyeing a future in management, this is a genuine environment to grow into it.
Your role will be split between:
- Delivering high-standard 1-2-1 personal training
- Running well-programmed small group classes (minimum 2 different studio classes)
- Prospect needs-analysis & tours
- Member development, body composition analyses & DNA testing/analysis
- Member retention, sales, and duty management
Every new member is assigned a fitness coach who becomes their mentor throughout their entire journey with us, so you're not just delivering sessions—you're building relationships and outcomes over time. You'll also inherit an existing client base from month one, meaning commissioned sessions from day one, as well as the opportunity to sign up new members and sell PT-inclusive memberships. Because all our members already buy into the value of regular coaching, upselling further sessions is a natural conversation, not a hard sell.
Earning potential:
- Base pay: £15 per hour
- Uncapped commission on top—no cap on earnings and no cap on the number of commissioned sessions you deliver on shift
- Sessions are 45 minutes, so hourly-rate comparisons don't always translate cleanly. Here's what that actually works out to:
- On shift: £30–£37.50 per hour (base + commission, depending on session type delivered)
- Off shift: £22.50–£30 per hour for commissioned sessions delivered outside of shift hours (an easy way to earn more around shifts)
- Current coaches comfortably earn over £25 per hour on average at all times, even after factoring in quiet months and quiet shifts.
With a genuine demand for PT and a member journey designed to funnel prospects straight to trainers, there's a real opportunity to build a strong client base quickly within this model.
Who we're looking for:
- Mindset matters more than experience. We want people with:
- REPS Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Essential: proven experience coaching pre- and post-natal clients, with the knowledge and confidence to safely programme and support women throughout pregnancy and the post-partum period
- A genuine desire to learn from peers and develop as a coach
- Superb interpersonal skills and a real passion for helping clients
- The honesty to prescribe exactly what a client needs, not just what's easy
- The ability to thrive in a driven, passionate team environment
- First Aid qualification
- The ability to teach a minimum of two different studio classes
- Proven sales ability
Experience is genuinely secondary to the right mindset: willingness to learn, passion, and a real duty of care to get clients results while enjoying the work. However, experience working with pre- and post-natal clients is an essential requirement for this position due to the needs of our membership.
We've built an amazing, ego-free culture among both coaches and members. Our 350 members are fantastic people who make this a supportive, unintimidating, clean, boutique space to work in—not just a gym to train in. Members feel comfortable and relaxed here, and we're looking for someone with an open, friendly, honest personality who'll build rapport with them instantly.
As part of our commitment to providing exceptional coaching for every stage of life, including pregnancy and post-partum, we're looking for a coach who is confident supporting these clients safely and effectively. This is a genuinely unique opportunity to develop as a coach inside a results-driven, state-of-the-art, but friendly and unintimidating environment, surrounded by industry-leading coaches who are as invested in your growth as you are.
