Collective Wellness Group (CWG) is the master franchise partner behind Anytime Fitness in Australia and, more recently, the UK & Ireland. With close to 800 health clubs and more than 950,000 members across these markets, CWG is one of the most successful operators in global health and fitness franchising. The Group has built its reputation on scaling high-performing networks, improving franchisee profitability, and elevating member experience across large, diverse markets. Following CWG’s acquisition of a controlling interest in Anytime Fitness UK & Ireland, the business is now embarking on a significant growth phase. The strategic ambition is to grow the network from around 180 clubs to approximately 500 clubs over the next seven years, through a combination of franchised development and a selective portfolio of corporately owned and operated sites.
The Opportunity: Joining an experienced, outcomes-driven Board, your role will be to bring the UK & Ireland market expertise, networks and governance experience needed to accelerate the growth of Anytime Fitness in these markets. Your contribution will include:
- Providing independent challenge, insight and support as the business scales rapidly across the UK & Ireland.
- Advising on the expansion strategy, including the interplay between franchised growth and corporate-owned development.
- Bringing deep commercial and P&L experience to discussions on franchisee performance, capital planning and network profitability.
- Using your networks in property, finance, franchising and retail to unlock relationships that support development, funding and overall growth.
- Offering a balanced, strategic voice in Board discussions, positively influencing a high-performing and entrepreneurial leadership team.
- Participating fully in Board meetings (held quarterly across the UK and Australia, with virtual attendance available) and contributing to at least one Board committee.
About You: You are likely to be an experienced UK or Ireland–based company director with:
- Extensive C-suite experience (CEO, CFO, COO, CDO or equivalent) over at least a decade.
- A proven track record in retail or bricks-and-mortar franchising, or another multi-site, customer-centric environment.
- Experience scaling physical networks and implementing structure, governance, systems and cultural alignment during periods of fast growth.
- Strong financial acumen, with the ability to interrogate P&L performance, challenge commercial assumptions and support franchisee profitability.
- Significant exposure to property-led expansion, including site strategy, landlord relationships, negotiations and development planning.
- A well‑established professional network across lenders and finance providers, property agents, developers and landlords, senior franchising or retail leaders.
In terms of style, you are commercially grounded, pragmatic and comfortable contributing to high‑intensity Board discussions. You bring constructive challenge, rationale and clarity, and you are adept at working with strong personalities while maintaining positive influence. Founders with a strong record of scaling structured, multi‑site businesses are welcome to apply, alongside seasoned CEOs and senior executives from large franchise or retail networks. Direct experience in the fitness industry is not required.
How to Apply: To express your interest, please submit:

- A short covering statement outlining your relevant experience in franchising, multi‑site growth, finance, property and Board‑level leadership.
All expressions of interest should be sent by 31st December 2025. All direct and third‑party applications will be forwarded to Love Recruitment as CWG’s retained recruitment partner.
