At Smartt Gym Burgess Hill, we're looking for an ambitious, people-focused Team Leader who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop into a future Club Manager. You’ll play a key role in the day-to-day success of the club, helping to create an exceptional member experience while developing the leadership skills needed to progress into management.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading by example and creating a positive, energetic atmosphere throughout the club.
  • Delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring every member feels welcomed and supported.
  • Motivating, coaching, and supporting team members to perform at their best.
  • Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the gym.
  • Driving membership growth, retention, and member engagement.
  • Promoting club services, events, and fitness offerings.
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation.
  • Supporting the Club Manager and taking on increasing responsibility as part of your leadership development.
  • Confidently overseeing the club independently when required.
What We’re Looking For
  • A genuine passion for health, fitness, and helping people achieve their goals.
  • Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, Senior Customer Service, Sales, or similar leadership role.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, professional, and approachable attitude.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead by example.
  • Confidence to work independently and make decisions when managing the club.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends on a rota basis.
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and reliable approach to work.
  • Sales experience (highly desirable).
Qualifications Desirable but Not Essential
  • Level 2 Gym Instructor or Fitness Coach Qualification.
  • Experience within the fitness, leisure, hospitality, retail, or customer service sectors.
