Are you passionate about creating exceptional member experiences and building thriving fitness communities? Our client is a well-established leisure and fitness organisation with a strong community presence across the Bristol area. They're looking for a commercially-driven Membership Experience Manager to lead sales performance and shape a first-class member experience.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building a strong sales culture as much as they enjoy getting the member journey right. You'll be driving membership growth, working with digital tools to improve how people join and stay engaged, and leading a team that's focused on delivering great service day to day.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who combines commercial drive with a genuine passion for people. You’ll take the lead on growing membership, improving retention and making sure every member receives a fantastic experience from their very first enquiry.
At the heart of this role is one simple question: How do we get more people through the doors – and make them want to stay? You’ll take ownership of the entire membership journey, from generating enquiries and converting new members through to engagement, retention and creating a real sense of community.
You’ll be highly visible, spending time with members and the team, understanding what’s working and constantly looking for opportunities to make the experience even better. This isn’t a role for someone who wants to manage sales from behind a desk. We want someone who loves talking to people, building relationships, coaching teams and creating an environment that people genuinely want to be part of.
What You'll Be Doing
- Driving membership growth and delivering against commercial targets
- Creating an outstanding member journey from enquiry through to long-term membership
- Improving lead generation, tours, follow-up and conversion
- Developing initiatives to increase member engagement and retention
- Coaching the wider team to confidently talk about memberships and services
- Building a strong sales and service culture
- Using member feedback and performance data to identify opportunities
- Developing local partnerships and community relationships
- Supporting campaigns, events and activities that drive awareness and engagement
- Being visible across the facility and building relationships with members
- Working closely with the wider management team to continuously improve the member experience
About You
You could already be working within fitness, health clubs, leisure or another membership-led environment. Alternatively, you may come from hospitality or another customer-focused business where delivering exceptional service, driving sales and leading people are central to your role.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience of driving sales, memberships or commercial performance
- A strong understanding of customer or member experience
- Experience working towards KPIs and targets
- The ability to coach, motivate and influence a team
- Excellent relationship-building skills
- A proactive approach to generating new business
- The confidence to use data and feedback to improve performance
- Plenty of ideas and the energy to turn them into action
Above all, you'll understand that great member experience and commercial performance go hand in hand.
Why Join?
You’ll be joining an organisation that has a genuine impact on the communities it serves. You'll have the opportunity to bring fresh thinking, develop new initiatives and play a key role in shaping how the organisation attracts, engages and retains its members. If you’re passionate about fitness, people and creating experiences that build loyal communities, we’d love to hear from you.
