Club Manager in Melbourne, Australia - Award Winning 24/7 Gym Group

AUD $80,000 base + circa AUD $1,000 per month commission + superannuation on top.

Location: Open to candidates currently based in the United Kingdom, with the role itself based in Melbourne, Australia as well as candidates based in Australia. You must be eligible for the Australian Working Holiday visa to apply or have the right to work in Australia.

Our client is a multi site gym group operating inside one of the world's largest 24/7 fitness franchises, with six clubs across two of Melbourne's fastest growing suburbs and sixteen more planned over the next two to three years. They're looking for a Club Manager to run a single club end to end: the team, the members, the sales and the day to day.

This is a genuine chance to build a career in Australia rather than just visit it. Every club in the group sits inside the top ten nationally, and they hold a world record pre sale alongside multiple number one Club Manager and Franchisee awards. They open new clubs every year, so a strong Club Manager here has a clear route into a regional or multi site role, and no cold outreach or street canvassing is involved because the marketing engine already brings the enquiries in.

On offer is a base salary of AUD $80,000 with commission built to be steady rather than a chase, a community first club culture where members of every age and background are looked after, and relocation support to help you land well in Melbourne.

Working pattern: Permanent and full time, on site.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the club: Own delegation, the daily plan and the bigger calls, from cancellations and group discounts to member complaints.
  • Convert the leads: Marketing brings the enquiries in, so speed of follow up is the job, getting to people while they're hot.
  • Run the daily huddle: Lead the 10:15 team call and know every team member's stats and conversion rates.
  • Set the standard: Be visible on the floor, known by name, and the example for how the harder conversations get handled.
  • Grow the team: Develop your Assistant Club Manager and membership consultants so they're ready when the next club opens.
  • Hit the targets: Around 150 to 200 new memberships a month per club, with retention and referrals sitting behind them.

About you:

  • Eligible to relocate: A UK passport holder aged 18 to 35 and eligible for the Australian Working Holiday visa, which needs no employer sponsorship.
  • Sales and people leadership: A track record of leading a team and hitting membership or sales targets in a gym, health club or leisure setting.
  • Organised: You plan your days properly and balance a fun floor with professional standards.
  • People first: You care about members and their journey, not just the number on the board.
  • Open to feedback: You take direct, upfront feedback as information rather than as a personal knock.
  • Ready to reset: Happy to learn a new process and park how the last club did things.
  • At ease with everyone: Comfortable with members from every background, including those whose English is limited.

What's in it for you:

  • Base salary of AUD $80,000 per year, with superannuation on top.
  • Commission of around AUD $1,000 a month, spread across the year so stronger early months balance the quieter ones, and overperformance is rewarded rather than required.
  • A route to up to three years in Australia across three Working Holiday visas, with multiple clubs in the group making continuous work simple to arrange.
  • Support getting set up on arrival.
  • A clear path into a regional or multi site role as the group grows from six clubs towards twenty two.
