Reporting to: EYST Strategic Youth Team Lead.
Project Overview: EYST is partnering with Codi on the Green Careers Pathway Project, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. The project aims to support young people to enter green careers by removing barriers, building confidence, and developing essential skills for roles in sustainability, climate resilience, and environmental restoration.
Objectives of the Role:
- Co‑operate with Codi’s team to deliver the project and support 16‑30 year‑olds in Swansea.
- Engage under‑represented groups to foster inclusive pathways into the green sector.
- Provide tailored coaching, training and mentorship to build confidence and employability.
- Facilitate equitable access to green‑economy job opportunities.
- Support personalised skill development aligned with current and future green‑economy needs.
- Advise on best practices for green efficiency and knowledge across EYST.
Principal Accountabilities and Main Duties:
- Support the delivery of Individualised Support and Engagement:
- Deliver personalised coaching and group workshops.
- Build trust and safety with participants.
- Refine coaching approaches using feedback.
- Collaborate with the Placement Coordinator.
- Track progress, assess outcomes and prepare reports.
- Support Participant Engagement and Inspiration:
- Identify 16‑30 year‑olds through community organisations.
- Build rapport via coaching and group activities.
- Address engagement barriers with tailored support.
- Support Career Exploration and Skill Development:
- Help participants articulate skills and strengths.
- Provide education on green skills, sustainability and renewable energy.
- Support CV writing, job search and mock interview techniques.
- Support Work Experiences and Placements:
- Organise volunteering and placements in green sectors.
- Engage communities to promote the Pathway.
- Maintain professional relationships with partners and employers.
- Act as connector between participants and local green opportunities.
- Support In‑Work Support and Career Progression:
- Provide ongoing coaching for up to one year post‑placement.
- Assist with training bursaries and further education.
- Promote Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Green Careers:
- Collaborate with employers to ensure opportunities are accessible to women, people with disabilities and ethnic minorities.
- Document insights and share learnings to inform policy.
- Attend network meetings to share updates, learning and issues.
- Present progress reports to funders, EYST Co‑directors and Board as required.
- Ensure equality of opportunity at all project levels.
- Implement safeguarding, data protection, equal opportunities and other relevant policies.
- Maintain administrative and financial records for the project.

Person Specification (Essential):
- At least one year of experience working with ethnic minority communities, preferably in Wales.
- Community engagement skills.
- Capability to collaborate.
- Specific knowledge of issues faced by diverse ethnic minority communities in Wales relating to employability.
- Good knowledge of green careers and sustainability.
- Ability to empathise, support and empower clients.
- Work independently with discretion, seeking advice when required.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience of monitoring projects and recording client support using client CRM systems.
