Starting salary from £30k (dependent on experience)

Location: Huyton, Liverpool

Working pattern: Full-time, working shifts within the nursery's 8am-6pm opening hours, Monday to Friday.

Our client is an award-winning day nursery group with a strong reputation across Liverpool. They’re looking for a qualified Early Years Teacher to lead learning in the pre-school room at their Huyton nursery, working with children in the final stretch before they start school.

This is a role for a teacher who wants to make a visible difference. The pre-school room has its own dedicated building, and the team are looking for someone to raise the standard of teaching and help every child head into reception confident and ready. It's a nursery that backs its teachers with a bespoke curriculum, a school readiness programme and a real focus on getting the learning right.

On offer is a starting salary from £30k, a setting with Forest School and Eco-School status, and the chance to shape how a whole room learns.

Key responsibilities:

  • Teaching and learning: Lead high-quality, purposeful teaching in the pre-school room, planning play-based learning in line with the EYFS statutory framework.

  • School readiness: Prepare children confidently for reception, supporting their communication, independence and early literacy and maths.

  • Assessment and planning: Carry out observations and assessments, using them to plan next steps and track each child’s progress.

  • Raising standards: Model best practice and share your expertise with colleagues to lift the quality of teaching across the room.

  • Safeguarding and partnership: Follow safeguarding procedures at all times and build strong relationships with parents and carers.

About you:

  • Qualified: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Years Teacher Status (EYT).

  • Experienced: Experience working with children in an early years setting, ideally with pre-school age children.

  • Knowledgeable: Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding and school readiness.

  • A team player: A positive, proactive approach to working as part of a nursery team and inspiring those around you.

What’s in it for you:

  • A starting salary from £30k, dependent on experience.

  • First-rate CPD opportunities to keep developing your practice.

  • A genuine focus on staff wellbeing within an award-winning company.

  • The chance to make a real impact on how children are prepared for school.
