LOVE@Care provides support across all areas of Lanarkshire:
- North Lanarkshire – Primarily community-based support, helping individuals access activities, develop life skills, attend appointments, and build independence within their local community.
- South Lanarkshire – Primarily domiciliary (homecare) support, providing personal care and daily living assistance within individuals’ own homes.
Work is community-based and carried out in service users’ homes and local areas. A driving licence and access to a car is essential due to the nature of the role.
The Role
As a Housing & Care Support Worker, you will provide specialist, person‑centred support to adults within their own homes and the community. You will play a vital role in empowering individuals to live independently, confidently, and with dignity.
Responsibilities
- Supporting service users with daily living activities such as washing, dressing, meal preparation, medication prompting, and household tasks.
- Encouraging independence, dignity, respect, love, compassion, and kindness in all aspects of care.
- Assisting with community access including shopping, social clubs, appointments, days out, and activities.
- Supporting individuals to develop life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and managing routines.
- Building strong, positive relationships with service users and their families.
- Promoting independent living and helping individuals achieve their personal goals.
- Providing clearly communicated guidance and encouragement to empower those you support.
- Recording accurate written reports and updates to achieve improved outcomes.
- Working collaboratively as part of a supportive team and sharing ideas.
- Maintaining a strong understanding of safeguarding and the protection of vulnerable adults.
About You
- Be resourceful and demonstrate a consistent “can do” attitude with patience and compassion.
- Be able to build rapport and positive relationships with a wide variety of people.
- Have the ability to empower and inspire confidence in others.
- Have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Be motivated to grow and develop within a supportive environment.
Experience supporting adults with Autism or Learning Disabilities would be advantageous (personal or professional), but not essential — we provide full training and development.
