Operations Manager in Louth

Louth Full-Time No working from home possible
Louth Playgoers Society Limited

Louth Playgoers Society is seeking an exceptional Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day management of the Louth Riverhead Theatre.

This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of a thriving charitable theatre that sits at the heart of our community. From welcoming nationally touring productions to supporting local performers, youth theatre and amateur companies, the Riverhead Theatre has been entertaining audiences for generations. We are now looking for an enthusiastic, commercially minded and inspirational leader to help us build on that success.

Working closely with our volunteer Board of Trustees, dedicated staff and committed volunteers, you will ensure the theatre operates safely, efficiently and sustainably while delivering outstanding experiences for audiences, performers and visitors.

About the Role

As Operations Manager you will take responsibility for every aspect of the theatre's operation, including:

  • Leading and developing our staff and volunteer teams.
  • Programming and supporting an exciting year-round programme of performances and events.
  • Identifying new business opportunities and increasing income through venue hire, fundraising and commercial activities.
  • Managing the theatre's day-to-day finances, budgets and reporting.
  • Ensuring the highest standards of Health & Safety, safeguarding and statutory compliance.
  • Overseeing Front of House, bar, box office and customer experience.
  • Working with visiting companies and technical teams to deliver professional productions.
  • Building partnerships across the arts, education and local community.
  • Helping deliver the long-term vision of the charity.

No two days will be the same. This is a varied, hands‑on leadership role requiring strategic thinking alongside a willingness to get involved wherever needed.

About You

We are looking for someone who can inspire others and make things happen.

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership and people management experience.
  • Strong organisational and operational management skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
  • Commercial awareness with experience of managing budgets and generating income.
  • Confidence in managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, safeguarding and risk management.
  • A proactive, flexible and positive approach to problem solving.

Experience in theatre, arts or the charity sector would be an advantage but is not essential. We are equally interested in candidates from hospitality, events, visitor attractions, leisure, entertainment, education or other customer‑focused organisations who are excited by the opportunity to lead a community theatre.

What We Offer

  • Salary of £35,000 per annum
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • A unique opportunity to shape the future of an important local charity
  • A supportive Board and enthusiastic volunteer community
  • The chance to make a lasting difference to arts and culture across East Lincolnshire
