- We are hiring a
- Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at
Debrito Lounge , a local café bar and brand‑new site in the casual dining group.
The role supports the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts, ensures daily prep is complete and every dish goes out to spec, and maintains a clean, well‑organised kitchen while upholding high food standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef, helping the team deliver great shifts and keep prep, hygiene and food safety at all times.
- Own your section: keep on top of prep & par, cleanliness, hygiene and food safety.
- Follow all allergen processes, ensuring the kitchen is compliant and safe.
- Help newer chefs develop their skills and confidence, working alongside the wider kitchen team.
- Know dish specs inside out and make sure every plate that leaves the pass is something to be proud of.
Qualifications
- Existing Junior Sous Chef, experienced Chef de Partie or Senior Chef, or line chef ready for a step up.
- Experience with fresh ingredients and strong kitchen skills (food prep hot and cold, knife skills, cleaning, good hygiene practices).
- Strong knowledge of best practice for allergens, kitchen essentials and food safety.
- Self‑motivated, able to work at pace with limited supervision, and a natural team player who leads from the front.
- Demonstrated ability to work reliably, be on time and give it everything when at work.
