As Junior Sous Chef you will be a key part of the Postino Lounge kitchen, supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts and ensure every dish leaving the pass is something to be proud of. This role is ideal for someone who loves real cooking, cares about the people around them, and wants to grow into a senior kitchen role.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts and ensure prep is completed for each day.
  • Ensure every dish goes out to specification and maintain high food standards.
  • Help maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen, upholding hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Take ownership of your section, managing prep, cleanliness, and allergen processes at all times.
  • Follow allergen processes, ensuring the kitchen is compliant and safe.
  • Support and work with the wider kitchen team, helping newer chefs develop their skills and confidence.
  • Know the dish specs inside out and ensure every plate is something to be proud of.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver quality dishes and maintain strong kitchen practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Junior Sous Chef, or as a Chef de Partie or Senior Chef seeking progression.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Experience working with fresh ingredients and strong kitchen skills (hot and cold prep, cleaning, knife skills, hygiene).
  • Natural team player who leads from the front and cares about the food.
  • Self-motivated and able to work at pace with limited supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of allergen practices, kitchen essentials, and food safety.
