Overview

As Junior Sous Chef you will be a key part of the Impero Lounge kitchen, supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts each week and ensuring every dish that leaves the pass is of high quality.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver great shifts, ensuring prep is completed for each day and every dish goes out to specification.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen and uphold high food standards every shift.
  • Take ownership of your section, managing prep, cleanliness, hygiene and food safety at all times.
  • Follow allergen processes at all times to ensure kitchen compliance and safety.
  • Support and work with the wider kitchen team, helping newer chefs develop their skills and confidence.
  • Know the dish specs inside out and ensure every plate that goes out is of high quality.
  • Be reliable and proactive; show up on time and contribute fully when on shift.
  • Bring strong kitchen skills with fresh ingredients (food prep hot and cold, cleaning, knife skills, hygiene).
  • Work as a natural team player, leading from the front and caring about the food that leaves the kitchen.
  • Operate with self-motivation and the ability to work at pace with limited supervision.
  • Maintain best practices for allergens, kitchen essentials, and food safety.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Junior Sous Chef, or an experienced Chef de Partie or Senior Chef looking to take the next step.
  • Strong kitchen skills across food preparation (hot and cold), cleaning, knife work, and hygiene.
  • A natural team player who communicates well and supports colleagues.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work at pace with limited supervision.
