We are a 4 partner GP practice in the heart of Loughton looking for a part time Health care assistant to join our existing friendly team. We care for around 10,500 patients and have a fantastic support team including 5 GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, a HCA, Pharmacists, a Social Prescriber, and a First Contact Physiotherapist. You would be joining a group who work closely to support each other and enjoy what we do.
Main duties of the job:
- Wound care/dressings
- ECGs
- Diabetic Foot Checks
- B12 and Flu Injections
- Urinalysis
- Opportunity to assist clinicians in minor surgery and well woman clinics

Job responsibilities:
- New Patient Health checks
- CVD Risk Health checks
- Testing urine samples
- Administer flu and pneumonia vaccines where appropriate
- Re-dress wounds
- Diabetic foot checks
- ECGs
- Ear syringing
- Organise clinics including stock check, booking patients, administration/paperwork
- Minor Surgery
- Hormone implants
- 24 Hour blood pressure monitoring
- Perform administrative duties and undertake other duties as may be required
Person Specification:
- Trained to NVQ level 2
- Numerate/literate with legible handwriting
- Basic computer knowledge
- Neat and tidy appearance
- Ability to multi task and work within a team
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Accurate typing skills and record keeping
- Understanding of the NHS
- Experience in working with EMIS Web
- Experience with clinical system in primary care
- Ability to work extra hours on occasion if needed
