We are a 4 partner GP practice in the heart of Loughton looking for a part time Health care assistant to join our existing friendly team. We care for around 10,500 patients and have a fantastic support team including 5 GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, a HCA, Pharmacists, a Social Prescriber, and a First Contact Physiotherapist. You would be joining a group who work closely to support each other and enjoy what we do.

Main duties of the job:

  • Wound care/dressings
  • ECGs
  • Diabetic Foot Checks
  • B12 and Flu Injections
  • Urinalysis
  • Opportunity to assist clinicians in minor surgery and well woman clinics

Job responsibilities:

  • New Patient Health checks
  • CVD Risk Health checks
  • Testing urine samples
  • Administer flu and pneumonia vaccines where appropriate
  • Re-dress wounds
  • Diabetic foot checks
  • ECGs
  • Ear syringing
  • Organise clinics including stock check, booking patients, administration/paperwork
  • Minor Surgery
  • Hormone implants
  • 24 Hour blood pressure monitoring
  • Perform administrative duties and undertake other duties as may be required

Person Specification:

  • Trained to NVQ level 2
  • Numerate/literate with legible handwriting
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Neat and tidy appearance
  • Ability to multi task and work within a team
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Accurate typing skills and record keeping
  • Understanding of the NHS
  • Experience in working with EMIS Web
  • Experience with clinical system in primary care
  • Ability to work extra hours on occasion if needed
