Join our Research and Innovation Office as a part-time (0.5 FTE / 18.5 hours) job share and open-ended contract. This position is eligible for Dynamic Working (part working from home, part working in the office) and Flexi-time (core hours 10am-12noon and 2pm-4pm).
The Research and Innovation Office plays a leading role in shaping and delivering the University’s research and innovation activities and provides a high quality, added value and seamless service to researchers across the research development pipeline. The Office incorporates several different teams that provide support for:
- Nurturing partnerships and collaborations
- Identifying and applying for funding
- Managing research projects and assuring compliance with policy
- Improving the visibility of research outputs
- Fostering the impact, intellectual property and commercialisation of research
- Nurturing research leadership skills through training and skills development programmes
The Research and Innovation Office also works closely with other Professional Services across the University, notably Legal Services, Registry, Student Services, Finance and HR.
The post holder will be responsible for support for the Research and Innovation Office, including:
- Specific Functional Area Support - Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) – Arranging travel and accommodation for international Fellows visiting Loughborough University, processing expenses and payments on their behalf, promoting the IAS with social media and supporting public events, general admin support for the IAS team and its activities.
- Business & General Administration - Purchasing & ordering, travel and accommodation bookings for RIO team members, HR & Recruitment, general point of contact within the Research and Innovation Office for both internal colleagues and external clients.
This post functions as a job share with another part-time post holder and will require working closely with the other post holder to ensure good communication and solid processes.
The ideal post holder will have excellent administrative and IT skills, be able to work with accuracy and attention to detail, both individually and as part of a team. Previous experience of the Clarity Travel booking portal or the iTrent HR management system would also be desirable.
