Thank you for your interest in this pivotal role in the Research & Innovation Office. We are now recruiting a fixed term (secondment opportunity) Deputy Director of the Research and Innovation Office, with a particular focus on integrity, compliance and risk, to help drive our Research & Innovation agenda forward.
Working closely with the Director and another Deputy Director, you will be a skilled and experienced professional service leader, able to motivate teams, influence stakeholders and provide both strategic and operational leadership in this busy and important role. The Deputy Director (Integrity, compliance & risk) will be expected to support delivery of a high-performing service which can work across functions and across the institution.
You will help to lead and develop an agile service that is well-connected across academic schools and professional to ensure that the University is able to plan strategically and be well-positioned to take advantage of opportunities. You will build on the existing structure to create an office which is best in class, valued by academic colleagues and senior staff internally as well as our external partners, for its expertise, guidance and support.
We are looking for an experienced leader and manager to lead a number of RIO teams with responsibilities spanning Research & Innovation Operations, Post Award Finance and Reporting, Contracts, Trusted Research, Ethics & Integrity and HTA compliance, and who can gain the respect and trust of the academic community. You should have experience in at least some of these areas, but support will also be provided for development where required.
You will have demonstrated the ability to lead professional service teams and will also have a proven track-record of delivering service improvement against key deliverables whilst motivating colleagues in a culture of continuous improvement. This secondment provides the opportunity to experience senior leadership responsibilities at Loughborough, in a supportive environment, and with the opportunity to make a real impact on our research & innovation culture, academic experience, financial and risk management.
