We are currently recruiting for Professors with expertise, and an interest in, Sustainability and Circular Economy to join us. Building on our strong interdisciplinary research in sustainable aviation, energy, and climate resilience, we’re seeking experts in the following focus areas:
- Sustainable Aviation: Advance net-zero aviation research and support activity in the National Centre for Combustion Aerothermal Technology (NCCAT), involving both modelling and experimental approaches.
- Cleaner Propulsion Technology: Help us strengthen Loughborough’s collaborations with industry partners to advance net zero propulsion.
- Sustainable Energy Transitions: Work with our Centre for Sustainable Transitions: Energy, Environment and Resilience (STEER) to drive new research that accelerates the transition to inclusive, sustainable and resilient energy systems through innovation, analysis and capacity building.
- Sustainable Fashion: Leverage Loughborough’s Design School’s expertise in circular fashion and sustainable textiles and innovative recycling of manufactured materials.
- Sustainability and Policy in Health and the Public Sector: Address sustainability challenges in health and social care policy, both in the UK and low/middle-income countries.
- Circular Economy: Chemical recycling, sustainable manufacturing, and resource efficiency, business modelling, decision making tools, and design within a circular economy.
- Climate Resilience and Adaptation: Expand Loughborough’s leadership in disaster adaptation, disaster resilience, informatics and climate action and advance research into digital decarbonisation.
Successful candidates will have a sustained and continuing record of excellence which has contributed to the furtherance of knowledge in their discipline and is recognised in a well-established and high-profile international reputation. Evidence of significant academic leadership and a PhD, or equivalent research experience, are also essential.
