We are seeking a skilled and motivated plumber to join the Estates and Facilities Mechanical Maintenance team at Loughborough University.

The role involves delivering planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across one of the UK’s largest single‑site university campuses, a 518‑acre estate recognised as one of the largest in Europe. Working within a technically complex environment, you will maintain and support a wide range of building services systems and plant serving academic, residential, research and specialist facilities.

The role offers significant opportunity for on‑the‑job learning and development, working closely with experienced colleagues and alongside other Facilities Management teams, including electrical and building fabric, within a collaborative multidisciplinary setting.

Key Requirements

  • City and Guilds Plumbing and Heating or equivalent Level 2 (Required)
  • City and Guilds Plumbing and Heating or equivalent Level 3 (Desirable)
  • Ability to maintain heating, plumbing and ventilation services
  • Ability to solve complex problems and self‑manage work loads
  • Be available to participate in the On Call Rota which runs evening and weekends throughout the year
