Join us and be part of a vibrant community at Loughborough University. We are looking for a full time Electrician to join the technical response team on the East Midlands Campus. In this role, you will complete work for students, staff, academics, visitors and tenants across the campus. The team seeks a polite, friendly and enthusiastic individual to help deliver excellent maintenance service.

You will work with a large team of electricians to ensure all Planned Preventive Maintenance programmes, both planned and reactive, are delivered on time and within budget. The wider maintenance team is multiskilled and you will work alongside Operatives, Plumbers, Joiners and Painters. Jobs will be assigned to your tablet and mobile phone via Archibus, our online work allocation tool. You will manage your own workload through the app while collaborating with the team. We value teamwork and a shared work ethic.

You will conduct risk assessments in line with your duties and follow all Health and Safety training, policies and procedures to keep everyone on campus safe. You will be provided with a uniform and the relevant PPE, a university‑owned vehicle to commute across campus, and access to onsite storerooms for tools and equipment.

Key Requirements

  • City and Guilds Electrical Technical Qualifications or equivalent
  • Substantial experience delivering electrical maintenance services on a large customer‑based location
  • Ability to work with our online work allocation tool app
  • Computer literacy with basic understanding of MS Word and MS Excel
  • Ability to read and work with installation drawings
  • Availability to participate in the out‑of‑hours on‑call rota
  • Experience working within an electrical team
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering and building schematic drawings
