This is an opportunity to join the University Health, Safety and Wellbeing Service and help support and facilitate cutting edge teaching and research at the University. This role is crucial to the safety of the university as the successful candidate will act as the lead on Chemical, Biological and Radiological Safety across the university.
In this role you will work with senior colleagues across the University to ensure that the processes and procedures necessary to successfully and safely manage scientific work are in place and working. You will have significant experience of Chemical, Biological and radiological safety in practice and in particular have a good understanding of radiological protection. You will hold a degree in a related subject and a safety qualification.
More specific or higher qualifications in safety, biological safety or radiological safety are desirable, but not essential as there will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to undertake additional training to enhance their skills. You will be an excellent communicator and have experience of explaining the positive impact that strong health and safety systems bring to senior leadership.
You will work within the University Health and Safety Service and together with that team drive high standards of Safety across the University. This is an interesting and challenging role that really makes a difference.
