Part time Project Manager (3 days per week/0.6FTE) Fixed term - hybrid

Join us and be part of a vibrant community at Loughborough University. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage a variety of work packages that form part of the current EPSRC Prosperity Partnership funded research in the Caterpillar Innovation & Research Centre (I&RC). The £8m project runs until September 2030 and focuses on delivering research to replace conventional fuels with lower carbon alternatives for off-road, heavy-duty power systems. We have a team of around 25 academics, technical support staff and researchers who will help deliver this work. The successful candidate will help ensure that we run to time and budget, while being able to offer creative solutions when obstacles are faced.

About You

  • Proven experience managing complex projects
  • Strong understanding and practical application of project management best practice, including risk and issue management and governance
  • Demonstrable ability to manage financial forecasting, performance reporting, compliance with University and funder requirements and multi-stakeholder delivery
  • Excellent leadership, communication and resilience skills coupled with a solutions-focused approach
  • Experience of research management systems (we use WorkTribe) and working within a higher education or research environment will enable you to succeed in this role.
