Postdoctoral Research Associate – RF System Development
Join Loughborough University’s Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering as an enthusiastic post‑doctoral research associate with experience in active antenna design for ground station systems and RF front‑end system design. The selected candidate will work directly with scientists from the European Space Agency and industrial partners on the development of dual circularly polarised antennas for vehicle‑to‑satellite communications.
- Key responsibilities:
- Design, model and optimise ground‑station antennas, ensuring dual circular polarisation and efficient radiation patterns.
- Validate designs through electromagnetic simulation (HFSS/ CST) and real‑world measurements in anechoic chambers.
- Prepare technical reports and peer‑reviewed papers; contribute to future research proposals.
- Present results to industry partners and ESA scientists.
- Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field with strong publication record.
- Extensive experience in antenna design, electromagnetic simulation and anechoic‑chamber measurements.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate theory into practical solutions.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
