Join us and be part of a vibrant community at Loughborough University. The Estates and Facilities Management team are looking for a full time Plumber to join the technical response team, where you will work on Loughborough University's East Midlands Campus. In this role, you will be completing works for students, staff, academics, visitors and tenants across the campus. Our team is looking for a polite, friendly and enthusiastic individual to help deliver our excellent maintenance team service.

You will work with a large team of Plumbers and Maintenance Operatives to ensure all PPM programmes, both planned and reactive works, are delivered to budget and on time. Our wider maintenance team is multiskilled, and you will work alongside Electricians, Joiners and Painters. Jobs can be varied and will be delivered to your tablet and mobile phone via Archibus, our online work allocation tool. You will be expected to manage your own workload via this app while working alongside the team.

You will conduct risk assessments in line with your duties and ensure you follow all Health and Safety Training and policies and procedures to keep all those who work and live on the campus safe. You will be provided with a uniform and the relevant PPE to complete this role, with access to a university owned vehicle to commute to buildings across campus, and the onsite storeroom will provide you easy access to equipment and tools.

Key Requirements

  • City and Guilds Technical Qualification or equivalent
  • Ability to repair and replace primary Plumbing & Heating & HVAC equipment
  • Ability to look after heating services, plumbing, ventilation, plant controls and boiler
  • Be available to participate in the On Call Rota which runs evening and weekends throughout the year
