We are seeking to recruit 2 Library Assistants into our Evening and Weekend Team.

Location: Loughborough University Library: on-campus. The University Library is central to the student and staff experience. We place great emphasis on providing excellent customer service, a range of learning environments, easy access to a large variety of information resources, and support for the development of information literacy, academic and research skills.

The role: The successful candidate will be working as part of the in person, front-line Library Experience and Environments Team to deliver high quality customer services, supporting students, staff, and visitors to use Library resources and services. You will maintain a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all users of the Library service and support the development and enhancement of user services through a range of activities and projects.

Our Evening and Weekend Library Assistant vacancies are for the following days/hours:

  • Post 1: Saturday 13.00 - 17.30 & Sunday 12.00 - 16.00 (34 weeks per annum)
  • Post 2: Wednesday 17.30 - 20.00 (31 weeks per annum) & Saturday 13.00 - 17.30 (34 weeks per annum)

The posts are open ended, part-time, term-time (31 weeks weekdays and 34 weeks weekends). Term-time is mid-September to mid-June. Experience of working in a library, information or educational environment is desirable, although not essential.
