A laboratory technician is required for Loughborough University's prestigious School of Aeronautical, Automotive, Chemical and Materials Engineering. The work will be predominantly in the departments of Materials and Chemical Engineering. You will have significant laboratory experience, either in a previous role or as part of your education. You will be joining an experienced and supportive team, working in a thriving and varied teaching and research environment where there will be scope for personal development as well as career progression.
The role will be part time (0.6 FTE) equating to three consecutive days per week with the specific days being agreed at interview.
You will come from a practical engineering background e.g. Mechanical and/or instrumentation with particular emphasis on manufacturing/processing facilities. You will have experience of providing laboratory technical support to industrial or academic project teams. Whilst being part of a local team, you will be a 'self starter' with the ability to work with minimum supervision and with a large degree of autonomy. You will be a solutions provider with the ability to work with local partners to ensure both teaching and research can proceed smoothly and with minimum interruption.
