We are seeking to recruit 2 Library Assistants into our Evening and Weekend Team.
Location: Loughborough University Library: on‑campus.
The University Library is central to the student and staff experience. We place great emphasis on providing excellent customer service, a range of learning environments, easy access to a large variety of information resources, and support for the development of information literacy, academic and research skills.
The role:
The successful candidate will be working as part of the in‑person, front‑line Library Experience and Environments Team to deliver high quality customer services, supporting students, staff, and visitors to use Library resources and services.
You will maintain a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all users of the Library service and support the development and enhancement of user services through a range of activities and projects.
Our Evening and Weekend Library Assistant vacancies are for the following days/hours:
- Post 1: Saturday 13.00 – 17.30 & Sunday 09.00‑13.00 (34 weeks per annum)
- Post 2: Wednesday 17.30 – 20.00 (31 weeks per annum) & Saturday 13.00 – 17.30 (34 weeks per annum)
The posts are open ended, part‑time, term‑time (31 weeks weekdays and 34 weeks weekends). Term‑time is mid‑September to mid‑June.
Experience: Experience of working in a library, information or educational environment is desirable, although not essential.
