We are looking for a skilled and reliable Painter to join our Estates and Facilities team, supporting the upkeep and presentation of our diverse university buildings and spaces. Our Estates teams play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming and inspiring environment for students, staff and visitors. Working across campus, you will contribute directly to preserving the high standards expected of a leading university.

As a key member of the team, you will:

  • Carry out painting and decorating works across academic, residential and commercial spaces
  • Prepare surfaces professionally to ensure high-quality finishes
  • Work safely and efficiently in occupied environments
  • Support planned maintenance programmes and reactive works
  • Take pride in delivering work that enhances the University’s appearance and reputation

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in painting, decorating and related maintenance works
  • Ability to estimate labour, materials and contractor support
  • Experience allocating, supervising and checking work to ensure high standards
  • Willingness to learn new equipment, systems and undertake training
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety, including safe working practices
  • Ability to identify and report unsafe or defective equipment
  • Competent in using systems such as ARCHIBUS to maintain accurate records
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a wider team
