Previous security experience is not necessary - our primary aim is the support and welfare of students and staff. All other elements of the role can be learnt, and training will be provided.

Job Purpose
To deploy as a member of the university security function, your main duties will be to provide uniformed patrols on a rotating shift pattern of twelve-hours, starting at 6 am on day shifts and 6 pm on night shifts.
Rotating Shift Pattern
- 4-night shifts Monday to Thursday, followed by 7 rest days
- 3-night shifts Friday to Sunday followed by 4 rest days
- 3-day shifts Friday to Sunday followed by 2 rest days
- 2-day shifts Wednesday to Thursday followed by 3 rest days
- 3-day shifts Monday to Wednesday followed by 4 rest days
This means you will work 15 shifts over a 35-day period. Patrols will involve foot, cycle, and use of vehicles, responding to incidents on university property.
