Loughborough Students’ Union (LSU) is recruiting to a pool of Customer Team Members (Bakery Assistants) to support our Retail Store Managers, Deputy Store Manager and Retail Team Leaders within our on-site franchised Co-op stores. Please note, this role is primarily based within the bakery section at the Union Building and focuses on preparing baked and hot food products, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring products are available and presented to a high standard throughout the day.

To be successful in this role, you will need to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, remain calm under pressure, and contribute positively as part of a team. A strong focus on customer service, attention to detail, and commitment to food hygiene standards are essential.

The role is offered on a casual basis on the LSU Casual Scale (currently £12.21 per hour, plus 12.07% holiday pay supplement). Working unsociable hours will form part of the role. Our trading patterns are seasonal, reflecting University term times, and shift patterns will vary accordingly. Training will be provided for all successful applicants, including mandatory food hygiene and safety training.
