We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Officer to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Loughborough College. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Maintenance Officer to join our busy customer-focused Estates department. You will support a proactive maintenance service which meets the needs of the college now and in the future, by being innovative in its approach to planned and reactive maintenance. You will be responsible for general maintenance supporting all aspects of the estates department. The post holder requires flexibility to work a rotational shift pattern, working 37.5 hours per week over 5 days. The shifts are rotated between the team, 05.45 to 13.45 and 13.45 to 21.45. Whilst your main days of work will be Monday-Friday, you will be required to work an occasional Saturday or Sunday to cover events such as open days.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- Conduct routine compliance checks including legionella monitoring, emergency lighting tests, fire alarm testing, and portable appliance testing.
- Support the opening and securing of college buildings and respond to security callouts.
- Deliver reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring work meets KPIs and SLAs.
- Provide rapid response to emergencies, liaising with emergency services when required.
- Drive and maintain college vehicles, support traffic and parking management.
What we are looking for:
- Hold a qualification in a relevant trade (e.g. construction, plumbing, plastering, painting & decorating, etc).
- Proven and extensive experience of working in a maintenance or construction trade.
- Experience of working to key performance targets.
- The ability to work independently using initiative or as part of a team with clear instruction.
- The ability to maintain good relationships with staff at a range of levels by behaving with integrity, treating people with respect and leading by example.
