The College is experiencing growth, and we are looking for an exceptional individual to join our distinctive educational setting and our growing academic coach team. Job Description:

  • Delivery of small group and 1:1 coaching sessions in our dedicated student attainment (STAR) room. You will work with the STAR lead, academic coaches, and teaching staff to identify students who would benefit from coaching, plan effective coaching sessions on a wide range of academic and study skills topics, and monitor student progress.
  • Delivery of group tutorial sessions (known as Personal, Academic and Professional Development) and 1:1 pastoral guidance meetings. The role of a personal tutor involves working with the Pastoral Lead, the Personal, Academic and Professional Development Lead, and the relevant careers and well-being teams to support students throughout their Sixth Form journey.
  • A significant focus is supporting students in making UCAS and apprenticeship applications.
  • Contribution to the delivery of support services such as the Sixth Form Lets Talk programme and Exam Support Rota, ensuring a consistent approach to well-being support for all students.
  • Participation in designing and delivering an enrichment programme for PAPD, including sourcing and securing guest speakers, hosting competitions and clubs, and supporting educational trips and visits.

Candidate Profile:

  • Experience working in a student-centered environment.
  • Experience delivering workshops, coaching students, or UCAS is desirable but not essential. Transferable skills such as proactivity, initiative, and building positive relationships are highly valued.
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and students.
  • Motivated to build on successful outcomes within the Sixth Form department and to embrace innovative modes of delivery.
