Loughborough College’s Elite Sport department is a highly successful department with over 2,000 learners, offering a wide range of provision up to L4 qualifications, including study programmes, apprenticeships, international and adult programmes and the Diploma in Sporting Excellence.
The department is seeking to appoint a Lecturer to teach and support elite sport learners. The role involves developing curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment strategies that support learners progressing through sport talent pathways. The successful candidate will deliver inspiring teaching and learning, both face‑to‑face and online, and monitor learner progress to ensure target grades are met and all learners achieve to the best of their ability.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver curriculum and assessment strategies for elite sport learners.
- Provide engaging face‑to‑face and online teaching.
- Monitor learner progress and ensure target grades are met.
- Work at Loughborough College and other offsite locations as required.
- Collaborate with partners and stakeholders, maintaining strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Plan and administer teaching activities, meeting deadlines and using appropriate teaching methodologies.
- Relevant degree and teaching qualification.
- Extensive teaching and vocational experience in further education.
- Experience of elite sport and working in high‑performance environments.
- Full, valid driver’s licence and ability to travel to offsite locations.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational, planning and administrative skills.
- Knowledge of a range of teaching methodologies, including online delivery.
