We have an exciting opportunity for a Sessional Accommodation Support Officer to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Brooksby College. We are recruiting an enthusiastic team of Sessional Accommodation Support Officers to provide welfare, safety and practical support to students aged 16-18 in our 181 bed halls of residence. The role will involve liaison with student residents, responsibility for security, safety, wellbeing and organisation of events.
This casual vacancy requires out of office hours working including weekends and bank holidays on a flexible rota basis as we are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Working patterns available are: Waking Nights: 22:00 – 08:30. Must be routinely available to work times listed above. This is a waking night role. Although this will be predominately based at Brooksby College some flexibility may be required to work occasional shifts at our other colleges to ensure both sites have adequate 24-hour staffing.
Applicants should be over 18 years of age, they will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS check and participate in induction training prior to shift allocation. Please note that no accommodation is provided with this role.
Responsibilities of this role include:
- To participate in the running of all aspects of accommodation services to ensure full compliance with health and safety, housing and accommodation legislation and wellbeing and security for 181 residents, for students aged 16-18.
- Undertake First Aid at Work training.
- To participate in 24/7 site support cover, emergency call-outs, sickness and holiday cover to provide service cover at key times.
What we are looking for:
- Possess qualifications in Maths and English Levels 4-9 (GCSE Grades A-C) or equivalent.
- Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Good level of administration, organisation and IT skills.
- Previous experience of working in a role with children or vulnerable adults.
