We have an exciting opportunity for a Lecturer in GCSE & Functional Skills English to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Stephenson College. You will teach Functional Skills and resit GCSE English to a wide range of learners in the Department on Level 1, Level 2 and Entry Level programmes together with their vocational programme. You will be part of the thriving cross college English team who engage in regional and national development programmes to ensure innovation in teaching and learning of post-16 English. We are looking for someone who will deliver inspiring teaching and learning, alongside monitor progress in lessons.
Responsibilities
- Ensure learners are on tracker to achieve their target grades through implementing appropriate assessments and providing high quality feedback.
- Deliver high quality and challenging learning experiences for the delivery of GCSE and Functional Skills English.
- Implement appropriate assessments and assessment strategies and feedback to students through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods.
Qualifications and requirements
- Be enthusiastic and able to demonstrate the ability to motivate and engage learners through the use of varied high-quality teaching and learning strategies.
- Previous experience teaching English.
- A relevant degree or equivalent is essential.
- Possess a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
- Possess strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Applicants who demonstrate strong English skills may be considered, even where direct GCSE teaching experience is limited.
