We are looking for a Lecturer in Animal Studies with the ability to deliver across the full range of the department's provision. You will have a passion for innovation, bringing new ideas and embedding new technologies into the learning environment. Working as part of the Animal Studies team you will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses. You will possess an excellent knowledge and understanding of animal management and be able to plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques.
Set in an 850-acre countryside estate, our dedicated animal care unit is home to a range of animal species giving our students the hands-on experience they need to build a successful career in the industry. As well as your relevant experience and current knowledge, you will also be willing to obtain a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if you do not already possess one.
Responsibilities:- Support learners through their programme and the specific qualification aims within
- Write schemes of work and lesson and review plans
- Be flexible in the delivery of education and training
- Ensure completion of portfolios, coursework, own work and all other programme related student outputs within the scheduled scheme
- Hold a minimum of a level 4 qualification or equivalent in relevant area
- Ability to inspire and motivate learners to achieve excellent results
- Experience of designing and delivering vocational/academic programmes to students and/or learners
- Effective time management skills and be able to work to deadlines
- Possess a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one
- Previous experience and knowledge of dog grooming is desirable
